Arsene Wenger’s side travel to Leicester City to face the Foxes and their brand new marquee midfielder Esteban Cambiasso.
But if Wenger has his way, Arsenal will themselves sign a Serie A star with the Daily Star reporting that the Gunners lead the chase for Torino’s Alessio Cerci.
The North Londoners have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old Italian international as they look to further strengthen their squad and reports suggest that a bid of £16 million will be enough to seal the deal.
A host of Premier League clubs were keeping tabs on Cerci including Everton, Chelsea and Tottenham, however it seems Arsenal have jumped to the front of the queue.
And they have now been handed a huge boost with the revelation that £16 million-rated Cerci wants to quit the Italian side this summer.
Torino president Urbano Cairo said: “Cerci’s sale is still possible and he has asked to leave.
“There are still four days left in the transfer market, so we’ll see what happens. Of course my desire is to keep hold of him, but we’ll see if we can find a solution that suits everyone.
“I’ve given him my word that we’ll sell him if an adequate offer arrives.
“With Milan it’s all over. Arsenal? There are several options.”
