The Football Transfer Tavern will be packed today ahead of another day full of Premier League action which includes the mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash between Manchester City and Arsenal.
Before the live match, David Wright from The Express revealed to interested punters that Arsenal target Michu has admitted that he dreams of playing for a top European side. This news could now open the possibility of a switch to the Emirates Stadium or Liverpool in January.
The 27-year-old had a storming start to life in the Premier League last term, netting 22 times and although he has failed to replicate similar form this season, he is still thought to be a prime target for Arsene Wenger.
Now the recent Spanish international debutant has announced that would love a move to an ambitious club capable of challenging for majors honours, with reports suggesting that Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping tabs on the attacker.
“Every player dreams about playing in big teams; clubs that play in the Champions League and fight for titles and I am no different,” Michu told Marca.
“But it is true that I feel very good here, the boss gives me a lot of confidence and I’m surrounded by Spaniards. I am very pleased and very happy at Swansea but it is obvious that every player wants to grow up and see how far you can go.”
It is well known in the tavern that the Gunners are in the market for a new forward as back up to Olivier Giroud, while Liverpool are looking to improve their strikeforce in the winter window as Brendan Rodgers prepares for a fight to secure Champions League football.
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has put a £30 million price tag on his star asset but that is willing to put off willing suitors who could be encouraged by these latest reports.
Is Michu really on the move and how much is the Swans striker worth? Let us know your thoughts below.
