Metro have a rather sensational claim for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern today as they note that Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar has opened the door to a move to Arsenal.
The keeper has just won the Confederations Cup with Brazil and has been sensational throughout the tournament and shown exactly why he is not cut out for life in the Championship with the R’s.
Having won everything there is to win in football on a domestic front, the keeper is now looking for a move back to the Premier League and is hoping to enjoy a more successful season after being relegated with QPR. Cesar is fully aware that Arsene Wenger is keen on bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.
After conceding only three goals during the recent World Cup warm-up tournament, Cesar won won the Golden Gloves award claimed: “Now I have to do things right at my club so I can be considered for the World Cup.”
He further noted that he would like to stay in London, claiming that: “Yes, me too. I love the city and I’m enjoying living there.
“Im very happy for winning the Golden Glove,’ Cesar added. ‘It’s a great award and it’s going to my collection.”
