Manchester Evening News has a rather interesting claim for punters today in the Football Transfer Tavern.
It is claimed that Wesley Sneijder is not as close to a move to Manchester United as it was originally first thought.
It had seemed that United were set to land the midfielder and we had even thought that a wage cut could be on the cards, with it being reported that the Dutchman was prepared to lose £1 million per year.
Yet the Galatasaray player has spoken out and noted that: “You would know better than me if I received any offers. Up to now there are no offers.
“There are rumours about me in every transfer window. I look forward to the end of transfer windows so people stop taking about me. I’m very happy here with the team and the fans and I have no reason to leave.
“This type of news always happens. You just need to wait until the end of the window.”
Our landlord puts down the pint he was about to pour and makes the claim that if United miss out on another player, not only will their fans be increasingly unimpressed, but they will also be in a bit of a pickle over just who they can sign now.
Manchester United fans. Do you really want Sneijder or is he past his best now? Let us know your thoughts below.
