Metro have a claim that Manchester United are so keen to hear in the Football Transfer Tavern that they have put down their pints and moved over to the bar.
As they join our landlord, he informs us that the publication seem to think that Edinson Cavani is keen on a summer switch to Old Trafford.
Of course as one of our punters notes, since the exit of David Moyes, the Red Devils are now in line to land pretty much any target they want (bar Lionel Messi obviously) providing they offer the right amount of cash.
It seems that they won’t have to put in so much effort to land the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
Life in the French capital has been hard for Cavani, who has been forced out on the wing by manager Laurent Blanc and the coveted Uruguayan forward has made no secret of the fact he wants out in the summer.
The 27-year-old is also being tracked by Chelsea and Manchester City, but is thought to have expressed an interest in United above their rivals. Quite why we do not know but perhaps Cavani enjoys the Europa League?
Should United wish to land his services, they would have to shell out a pretty penny, with figures thought to be as high as £60 million.
Do you think Cavani is worth that kind of money or should United keep what they have? Let us know your thoughts below.
