Metro have some rather interesting news for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern after they claimed that the Blues have managed to turn the head of Fredy Guarin.
The Inter Milan midfielder is thought to be a target for the Blues and has, as our landlord notes anyone would, been a little bit distracted since news of the interest reached his ears.
Our punters are just getting over a heavy weekend in the tavern with an all-day breakfast special and are eager to learn more.
As always, our in the know landlord fills us in. He claims that Inter president Erick Thohir is worrying about keeping hold of the player.
“Guarin is a great player, I like him a lot. We would obviously love to keep him, but the situation in Europe is not like in Indonesia,” he said.
“When there are great offers from big clubs, we have to take them into account. And above all, we can’t make a player stay when his heart is not in it, but at another club.”
The Blues are not thought to be in the market for a forward – something that our punters find astounding – but seem to be willing to spend £14 million on the Colombian midfielder.
Will Inter reluctantly part with their star midfielder? Let us know your thoughts below.
