David Moyes hasn’t enjoyed a comfortable start as Manchester United manager. Overseeing three losses in the opening six Premier League games, the Red Devils have experienced their worst start to a season in 24 years!
What’s worse for the United faithful is that they’ve had to endure two gut wrenching defeats to arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester City while the biggest shock came this weekend just gone when West Bromwich Albion managed a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
In light of the period of transition at Old Trafford, Transfer Tavern readers have been asked to predict where David Moyes’ newly inherited side will finish this season.
Currently sitting in 12th, an entire generation of United fans won’t be used to such modest beginnings in a league season and without Sir Alex Ferguson’s presence beside the touchline, the Red Devils undeoubtedly appear a less feared outfit without the iconic Scot in charge.
At present – and the doing of some undercover Arsenal, Liverpool and City voting agents we reckon – the majority of readers think United will indeed finish in ‘no man’s land’ with 46% of readers’ votes thinking along these lines.
With 32% of readers’ votes thinking United will end up in fifth place and an automatic Europa League berth and just 3% of readers’ votes believing they will end up as champions, it’s quite clear that punters aren’t encouraged by the start United have made, despite some incredible solo appearances – and free-kicks – from Wayne Rooney.
So United fans and football fans alike; get involved and cast your vote today.
