There are more than a couple of interested fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by The Sun that Chelsea may be willing to send Thibaut Courtios out on loan to another club next season – this time in the Premier League.
The keeper has been nothing short of brilliant for Atletico Madrid and has been a pivotal part in their success over the last two seasons. It was thought that he may well be used as a sacrifice in a potential deal for Radamel Falcao who Chelsea of course have been heavily linked to.
Now it seems the club want the Belgium international to get some experience in the Premier League and Fulham, Southampton and Wigan Athletic are all keen on landing the 20-year-old who has managed to keep 24 clean sheets this season and is well on course to contest the Zamora – La Liga’s answer to the best keeper award. Courtois is of course seen as the eventual replacement for Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge and is rated highly at the club.
Atleti meanwhile are keen on keeping the talented keeper at the Vicente Calderon and could well insist that he remains either on loan for another season or is actually used as bait for the Falcao deal.
Are any of the Premier League trio good enough to land the star keeper? Rate this rumour below.
