The Football Transfer Tavern is packed today with frenzied excitement building ahead of tomorrow’s transfer window closure and Liverpool supporters are eager to see more business completed.
Now the Liverpool Echo suggest that the Reds will announce a triplet of signings tomorrow as Chelsea’s Victor Moses joins on loan with Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori arriving on permanent deals from Paris Saint-Germain and Sporting Lisbon respectively.
Moses will arrive at Anfield on a season-long loan deal from their Premier League rivals with the Nigerian international set to arrive after a loan fee of around £1. 5million was agreed with the London outfit.
Moses appeared fairly regularly for the Blues last term following his summer arrival from Wigan Athletic but is now surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge following a busy month for Jose Mourinho.
Both Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori are on the brink of being announced as Reds players after they passed medicals and agreed personal terms yesterday. Sakho, who can also play on the left and won 14 French caps, joins in a £15 million deal from the Ligue 1 champions while Ilori, 20, will arrive from Sporting Lisbon after Liverpool agreed a £7 million fee for the Portuguese youngster.
All three new arrivals were at Anfield for today’s match against Manchester United and will be officially confirmed as Liverpool players within the next 24 hours.
The Reds still hold out hope of bringing Aston Villa outcast Shay Given to Merseyside as back up for Simon Mignolet but an agreement has not yet been reached with the West Midlands side.
