Liverpool currently find themselves leading the way in the Premier League, while Everton are struggling for consistency down in 11th position.
The Reds have been the dominant force in the top-flight of English football this season as they continue to build towards securing an elusive Premier League title. Meanwhile, the Toffees will have their sights set on securing a European spot in the current campaign, despite their recent run of inconsistent form.
Liverpool and Everton pulled off two of the best Premier League transfer moves back in the summer months, so we took a look at Fabinho and Andre Gomes’ influence.
With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…
The Portugal international has proved to be one of the best summer signings in the Premier League, but he hasn’t always been able to ensure consistency. He was criticised for his performance against Southampton last time out and he just hasn’t displayed as much quality in recent times, as he appears to be losing his touch at Goodison Park.

FSG funded the £43.7 million deal for Fabinho back in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian endured a rough start to life in England but he soon turned things around as he has now developed into one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League, having played a crucial part in the Reds’ campaign.
Indeed, the 25-year-old has even slotted in at the heart of the defence to help the Reds out this season and his tackling and intercepting ability has been crucial, so he really is priceless.

When comparing these two, it’s safe to say that Fabinho is enjoying the rub of the green at this moment in time, but there’s no doubt that Gomes has been a special find for the Toffees this season.
The defensive midfielder is always dominant in possession and he has even developed his passing game since moving to Anfield, with two assists to his name at this moment in time.
On the other hand, the on-loan Barcelona man will be desperate to get back to his best after impressing during the first half of the season.
Both players have performed at the top of their game for large parts in the Premier League this season, but Fabinho has managed to overtake Gomes with his recent performances in all competitions at Anfield, as one of the Europe’s best defensive midfielders.
