Ralph Hasenhuttl certainly appears to have turned things around for Southampton since arriving at the club.
The Austrian has seen the club’s results improve under his guidance as they look to climb away from their precarious position in the Premier League table.
With the January transfer window in full swing, The Saints are likely to look to make a couple of additions to their squad to ensure they have the best chance of retaining their status in the top-flight.
Joakim Maehle has been linked with a move to The St Mary’s Stadium, whilst Cedric Soares has been touted with a possible departure.
However, which of these right-backs would be best for Southampton to have on their books?
The Daily Mail had claimed that Southampton had opened talks with Genk about the possibility of signing Maehle.
The 21-year-old is extremely versatile and would offer Hasenhuttl options in a number of areas across the pitch, including in the midfield.
The Denmark Under-21 international has been impressing with his performances in Belgium for Genk this season and is thought to have attracted a number of potential clubs.
El Desmarque had claimed Valencia were interested in Maehle, although the promising player is not thought to be keen on a January move.

Soares has been touted with being one of the players that Hasenhuttl is keen to offload from his Southampton squad.
Valued at £13.5million by Transfermarkt, the Portugal international can play on either the right or the left in either a defensive or midfield role, offering the club plenty of options.
The Euro 2016 winner has featured prominently for The Saints this season and has been involved in a match whenever possible – having missed just five Premier League games through injury.
However, in the time he has been available for the new boss, Soares has completed just one match out of the three fully, with his last two appearances against Leicester City and Everton coming from the substitutes bench.

There is no doubt that Maehle is an exciting player that could have a bright future ahead of him, however, Soares must be kept at Southampton.
The 27-year-old has the experience of playing in the Premier League and he has been a consistent performer for the club since joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2015.
