Wolverhampton Wanderers are in a worrying position at this moment in time as their European hopes took a slight hit last time out. Indeed, Southampton were too good at St Mary’s as they inflicted a 3-1 defeat upon Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.
Interestingly, with things not going perfectly at this moment in time it appears as if the Midlands club are eyeing a possible addition, as according to Le 10 Sport (via The Mirror), Wolves are willing to smash their transfer record to sign Marseille’s Morgan Sanson in the summer transfer window.
Of course, one player who could be affected by the possible arrival of Sanson is Leander Dendoncker, as the likes of Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves have been simply sensational.
With that in mind, lets compare the two players…
Leander Dendoncker struggled to work his way into Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans during the first half of the season but he’s now become a regular in the Premier League.
However, he’s not quite shown that he has what it takes to operate in the attacking midfield role he’s been deployed in at times, as he’s squandered a number of chances.
Wolves could definitely benefit from having more of a creative spark in that position.
TT GRADE: B
Morgan Sanson, who is valued at £22.5 million (by Transfermarkt), has established himself as one of the standout performers in the Ligue 1 this season. He’s produced four goals and four assists in all competitions with his creativity and passing ability constantly working wonders over in France.
He has all the ingredients to become a future star and he’s done more than enough to warrant a move to the Premier League, so Wolves shouldn’t hesitate to snap him up this summer.
TT GRADE: A
Sanson is a level above Leander Dendoncker at this moment in time as he offers everything that the Belgian can and more, with his creativity and ability to find the back of net providing Wolves with the missing piece in their midfield.
Therefore, Fosun must splash the cash once again to fill the creativity void in midfield as it could be the difference between hovering around mid-table and challenging the top-six next season.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
