There is no doubt that Tottenham Hotspur rely heavily on Harry Kane for his goals, however, who can Mauricio Pochettino call upon if he were to be without his key talisman for part of the campaign? Fernando Llorente has been his main option when the England international has been ruled out, however, it does not appear Spurs have been too convinced with what the veteran Spaniard can bring to the side.
Luka Jovic and Patrick Cutrone are two names that have been linked with potential moves in the summer to the Premier League outfit and are both players that would definitely get fans off their seats even more if they were to play for Tottenham next season.
However, who is the better option for Pochettino to have in his squad? Let’s take a closer look at the pair below…
Jovic has been nothing short of incredible this season and it does not come as a surprise to hear his name being linked with a potential move in the summer.
The Eintracht Frankfurt star has bagged himself 22 goals so far and has helped the Bundesliga outfit to a place in the Europa League quarter-finals. He’s almost as prolific as Harry Kane, which speaks volumes as everyone at Spurs knows just how influential he’s been in the current campaign.
The 21-year-old has become one of Europe’s hottest strikers at the moment with his performances for club and the Serbia National Team and appears destined to reach the top level within the game.
His work-rate is incredible and he would also be able to add the creativity in the final third, which is something Spurs have lacked at times.
Also, as he is valued at £49.5million (Transfermarkt), whether Daniel Levy will be prepared to break the bank to try and sign him would also have to remain to be seen, especially after two successive windows of not spending a penny.
But, the one thing that is certain is the fact that the forward could definitely light up the new White Hart Lane, especially with Harry Kane possibly working alongside him.

Cutrone is another extremely talented striker with a bright future ahead of him, however, he is currently struggling to get his chance to impress in the AC Milan set up at the moment following the winter arrival of Krzysztof Piatek.
The 21-year-old does have nine goals to his name already and what could make him an even more attractive option is the fact that his game can be seen as a similar type to Kane’s. The Italian forward likes to play off the shoulder of the last defender and make runs into the area.
Like the English star, Cutrone is also rather clinical when in front of goal as when he gets the opportunity to shoot, he is almost guaranteed to hit the target and work the goalkeeper – making his chances of finding the back of the net that much better than others.
He has quick feet, thrives in the air and can use his heading ability, has bundles of strength and is very good when it comes to movement off the ball as he gets himself into some perfect spaces.
However, with Jovic, the same argument must be had about whether Cutrone would be prepared to join Tottenham and wait for his chance, especially when you consider what he is currently going through at AC Milan.
TT Grade: A-
Both strikers are incredibly gifted and talented in front of goal, so any team would be happy to have either of them lead their forward line, which could make it hard for Tottenham to try and bring one of them to the club.
With the possibility of trying to replace Kane being almost impossible, Jovic and Cutrone would not likely be happy to sit on the bench and warming up the seat waiting for their opportunity.
Jovic would have to be the better option for Spurs to target in the summer, meaning he wins this battle, however, the Premier League outfit could miss out on both men if they were to try and sign either one of them.
Tottenham fans, do you think you could convince either Jovic or Cutrone to join you in the summer knowing they would ultimately be a back-up to Kane? Would you agree with this battle? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
