Leeds United have already signed two players on loan from Chelsea this summer, but with time remaining to make further acquisitions in the transfer market there's every reason to suggest they should target a wonderkid who is making great strides at Manchester United.

Leeds and Man United famously have one of the most toxic and passionate rivalries in English football, so transfers between the two clubs are far from common.

However, Marcelo Bielsa will be eager to add exciting attacking players to his ranks before the window slams shut who can inject spark into his side's play in the final-third, and one player who could be a revelation in the Championship is Angel Gomes.

Gomes is widely regarded as one of the best attacking talents to emerge from United's academy in recent years, and he's a youngster who certainly possesses the potential to become a first-team regular at Old Trafford in the years to come.

Last season Gomes managed to notch 14 goals and provide 7 assists from just 22 appearances in the U18 Premier League whilst predominantly operating in a number ten role, although it's well worth noting that he can play in an inside-left role as well.

But with competition for places so intense at United, Gomes will certainly struggle to break into the senior squad as early as next season, so a season-long loan should be in his best interests.

The Championship is a notoriously physical league which will undoubtedly pose a huge challenge for Gomes who stands at just 5'3, but the challenge is one which will only enable him to learn and improve for the future.

Besides, Gomes' blistering level of pace and confidence in one vs one situations should allow him to bypass defenders at will in the Championship and improve his rather inconsistent decision-making in the final-third.

With no significant experience in the Premier League under his belt just yet it would represent a huge step up for Gomes to move to Elland Road this summer but, considering his enormous level of potential and progress at youth level, it could be the perfect time for him to step out of his comfort zone.
