Besiktas are chasing one of Manchester City’s players according to the Daily Mirror and our punters in the Football Transfer Tavern think that the Citizens star could well be set for a massive payday.
Joleon Lescott is of course out of contract at the club in the summer and City have claimed that they will not offer him a new deal, meaning that the England defender is of course looking at other options.
A move to Turkey could be possible this summer, where a salary of around £100,000 per week would be on the table.
City meanwhile have lifted their first piece of sliverware this season and look like they could well be completing the domestic treble, meaning that they could make history – and as one of our punters here in the tavern reminds us, Lescott has targeted that as his leaving present.
This of course makes us think that the Citizens will have to bring in at least one central defender in the summer, and it is not exactly like they can rely on the likes of Martin Demichelis is it!
Should Lescott sample the invigorating atmospheres of Istanbul and Turkey in the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
