Mauricio Pochettino deserves enormous credit for what he’s done over the last six matches in the Champions League. After qualifying from the group of death last season, he’s managed to do it again as his side battled their way to a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou, even if the fans had no faith. You can forgive the fans, though, as it looked bleak when Poch introduced Fernando Llorente.
83 – Our final switch:

There was only seven minutes of normal time remaining when Llorente was brought on, replacing the hard-working Harry Winks for the final moments. However, when Llorente is brought on it usually means that the die is cast. On this occasion, though, it wasn’t, as Lucas Moura’s goal just minuted after Pochettino’s final substitution meant that Tottenham would gain a valuable point and qualify from their group.
Pochettino achieved what was deemed impossible and every single player in the Spurs squad deserves credit for it. They managed to find belief even when the supporters were devoid of it, and it was clear to see that they’d lost their spirit in their responses to the news of Llorente’s introduction. However, they will live to fight another day at Europe’s top footballing table and have avoided an unwanted meeting with both Chelsea and Arsenal in the Europa League.
You can read the Lilywhites’ devasted replies to the Llorente sub here:
Imagine needing a goal and bringing on Llorente.
I'm so glad we didn't spend any money in the Summer.

Spurs fans everywhere lost faith when Llorente came on, and they were all made to look silly for doing so when Lucas Moura came up with the goods.
