This is as The Express claim that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are plotting £70 million bids for Eden Hazard despite fresh contract talks opening with the Blues.
Los Blancos and PSG are set to splash the cash as they eagerly monitor Hazard’s situation with Chelsea in anticipation of the January transfer window opening.
The Belgian international has been a key player in Chelsea’s formidable side this season after scoring and assisting on several occasions this season.
Jose Mourinho and the board at Stamford Bridge have planned to offer the 23-year-old a new contract but they will have to be careful in their approach as they cannot upset their talisman.
PSG are confident that they can compete with Madrid if Hazard’s contract talks don’t go to plan as a move to Paris would see the winger return to Ligue 1 where he made his name.
That said, Mourinho has publicly backed Hazard to remain at Stamford Bridge for the forseeable future.
Mourinho said: “If they’re happy to be here, like Eden is showing, he will sign a new contract sooner or later.
“They can basically be the Chelsea team for the next few years.”
