The Daily Mirror has some good news for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
They claim that the Blues could well be set to tie up two major summer transfers by the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho may be in hot water with his latest comments about Arsene Wenger, but on the transfer front, the Special One is a lot happier.
He is under the impression that a deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani and indeed Southampton’s Luke Shaw could well be tied up before the World Cup even begins.
As we all know, Chelsea are in dire need of a star forward and it seems that Cavani is their man, with a bid being prepared and the player himself being sounded out over a move to the Premier League.
Cavani has also been tracked by Manchester United, who are keen on the forward, yet it is thought that Chelsea and Mourinho are leading the race for the player.
Southampton starlet Shaw meanwhile has made no secret over his desire to make a switch to Chelsea at some point in his career playing for the club he loves.
Quite if his idol Ashley Cole will be at the club however remains to be seen.
Will Mourinho land his men before they even kick a ball in Brazil? Let us know your thoughts below.
