The Football Transfer Tavern was packed today with an exciting set of Premier League fixtures.
The game that really caught the eye was the fixture between Chelsea and surprise package Liverpool.
Just before the game kicked off, Steve Millar from the Daily Star popped into the bar with some breaking transfer speculation.
Millar suggested that Brendan Rodgers is lining up two major transfers as he looks to maintain Liverpool’s bid for the Premier League title.
Rodgers reportedly wants to make Basel attacking midfielder Mohamed Salah his latest purchase at Anfied. Salah, who is very highly rated in the tavern, is known as the ‘Egytian Lionel Messi’ and is thought to be valued at £10 million.
While he is also plotting a short-team deal for Barcelona’s left back Martin Montoya, who would offer options at the back given his ability to slot in at centre back if required.
Rodgers will want to offer his side a boost in January and believes that strengthening his side could ensure silverware returns to Anfield.
The Reds boss said: “We always have to look. We have got to go into every window and see where we can improve.
“If there are players we can attract, the key is whether we can improve the team.
“We have targets in mind but it goes back to availability and if they are affordable.”
