Inter Milan are reportedly interested in Sandro after he impressed in Tottenham’s 1 – 0 win over AC Milan.
Leonardo has close links with the Brazilian team and has known of the Tottenham star for a while. His promising display against the Italian league leaders has prompted the Inter Milan coach to ponder over a deal for the 21 year old.
The former Internacional defensive midfielder would fit in well with the Italian side’s typically conservative ethos and proved that he could battle with the best as he ran hard throughout the match against AC Milan and made some good clearances.
Reports in Italy claim that the asking price for Sandro is around the £10 million mark but given that he only signed for Spurs last year for a fee rumoured to be around £14 million, Tottenham will likely demand a profit on the fee they paid for the Brazilian.
It has to be said that Sandro has not only impressed such managers as Leonardo but his own boss Harry Redknapp. Given how well he and Palacios worked together in the midfield Redknapp will want to see if this is a player who blossoms into a cultured defensive mid – giving his side another dimension if a defensive approach is needed.
With his first Champions League outing a success, his Fledgling Spurs career looks to be going from strength to strength as he tries to solidify a first team place. It won’t be easy, however, with competition in Spurs’ midfield extremely intense but he has certainly executed a chance to show his potential against one of the most successful clubs in the World – even if AC Milan aren’t the same bastion of European football they once were.
