Unai Emery states injury blows as the ‘worst news’

Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Wednesday night at Old Trafford, however, they saw two of their players get hit with fresh injury blows.

Both Rob Holding and Aaron Ramsey picked up knocks in the game and Unai Emery has revealed that it was the ‘worst news’ that the club had received on the day.

Speaking to football.london, he said: “This is the worst news for us today.

“Rob Holding we are going to wait for the doctors, but it is a big injury. It’s his knee.

“Aaron I think it is a small injury.”

Holding had to come off in the first half and his injury did not look too good, whilst Ramsey was forced off the pitch at the break.

Despite the injury news, Arsenal extended their unbeaten run to 20 matches and will now look ahead to their match against Huddersfield Town on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

The Verdict:

Despite extending their unbeaten run, the news will have dealt a blow to Arsenal and Emery as both men have been key to the Gunners this season.

Holding has been solid for Emery at the back and there will be hope that his injury is not as bad as first feared as the English defender has fitted well into the Spaniard’s first-team since being in the side following injuries to their other centre-back stars.

Ramsey’s future at the club appears to be coming to an end, however, he has still continued to play a vital role for them this season and has been a major factor in helping them be where they currently are.
