‘Unbelievable’ – Standout Liverpool ace sends message to supporters after Man City display

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t stopped celebrating their side’s win against Man City quite yet. The Reds enjoyed a heavy night in the pub after their side surprised everyone with their display against the Premier League leaders.

Whilst it’s fair to say that most were expecting another solid performance from the Citizens, Jurgen Klopp’s men put on a clinic to open the second-half of the game, leaving Man City trailing in their way. Though a late fight back led to a few nerves amongst the Anfield faithful, they were able to see the game through in the end.

It’s fair to say that Liverpool fans are delighted with the result, and it’s clear that the players are too. Following the game, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took to Twitter to reflect on the day.

“Proud of the boys today!”, he Tweeted, before adding: “Unbelievable game and atmosphere at Anfield today! Glad we could get the 3 points for the fans who were amazing”

The Ox, as he is affectionately known, has quickly become a hero amongst our resident Reds, and with his display on Sunday, it’s easy to see why. He opened the scoring for Liverpool, and his heroics on the field thereafter won’t be forgotten easily. Delivering fantastic energy, quality on the ball and goals, the Englishman is doing everything right at present.

Landlord’s Verdict

Oxlade-Chamberlain is clearly very thankful for the Liverpool fans, and they’re pretty thankful for him too.

His move to Anfield was met with some criticism, but he’s proven his decision right so far.

He was, arguably, one of Liverpool’s most important players against the Citizens, and if he keeps performing like that, he’ll become a legend at the club. He’s certainly building a very solid repport with the fans.
