Undecided: Liverpool fans are divided on whether the club should re-sign £31.5m-rated man

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are a passionate bunch, and they’re fond of every player that dons that famous red shirt and turns out at Anfield.

For most players, that respect is replicated – with everyone aware of the magnitude and importance that comes with playing for Liverpool.

That’s certainly true of former Red Suso. The attacking midfielder had a tough time at Anfield, but he’s since flourished over in Italy with AC Milan – becoming one of Europe’s brightest talents.

He recently spoke with the Guardian and admitted that he would be open to the prospect of returning to Liverpool, such is the significance of the club in his career, and that left our resident Reds discussing that very prospect.

It’s fair to say that the idea of a move is generating a lot of division amongst fans, and that’s highlighted by a recent poll. We recently asked fans whether Liverpool should look to re-sign him, and the results were very interesting.

A verdict wasn’t really found, given that 52% of fans voted no, whilst 48% of fans voted yes.

Clearly, it’s an idea that fans simply cannot decide on, and that’s particularly interesting.

As aforementioned, Suso has had a fantastic year or two, and it’s likely that his recent form has caused some fans to forget how poor he was when he was last in the Premier League, as he’s clearly a very different player now.

However, that lingering vision of his struggles is also likely having an impact on those that are against him returning – and so Jurgen Klopp can’t really win either way.

There’s no suggestion that Liverpool are keen on a reunion yet, but fans are clearly divided nonetheless.
