Under-performing Liverpool defender needs to move on this summer to reignite his career

Liverpool are pulling together a more than capable squad of late with some big money signings giving them a chance of obtaining some real success over the coming seasons.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to bring some trophies to Anfield in the coming years, and with the solid additions of the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and the incoming summer move of Naby Keita to the club, things are really beginning to look up for the Reds.

Here in the Tavern, our landlord has been a massive fan of some of the play the Liverpool players have putting on show this term, and he’s been suitably mesmerised by the form of the likes of Mo Salah in the process.

However, despite all the good players at the Reds’ disposal, there are one or two in the squad who could find themselves shown the door come the summer.

One such player is Spanish defender Alberto Moreno, who has lost his place at left back owing to the form of Andrew Robertson, while last season he saw utility man James Milner keep him out of the side on a regular basis.

Moreno has never really got to grips with the Premier League, and has been called out by many a pundit for some less than impressive displays at left back during his time with the club.

A move back to his homeland could be the most likely and best option for Moreno, who will be looking to rejunvenate what is becoming a somewhat stale career.
