The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waiting and waiting for their club to announce a signing, but they didn’t think when it came along it would be this. Phil Hay has confirmed that 18-year-old Leif Davis has joined The Whites U23 squad on a three-year deal.

Leeds are looking forward to the start of a new era when the Championship season begins. The fans are hopeful that Marcelo Bielsa can get them back into the promised land of the Premier League, but for that to happen they need to make some signings for the first-team. The Elland Road faithful have been hoping that one day soon they can be celebrating the signing of Matej Vydra or another player that they’re being linked with.
So far this summer, the Whites have seen Lewis Baker come through the door on a season-long loan but other than that the fans have mostly just seen outgoings with a lot of players being sold or loaned. This in itself is positive as the club do have a lot of deadwood that they need to ship out but unless they can also bring some players in then the fans don’t care how many low-impact fringe players come and go.
You can read our local Whites’ verdict on their summer and Davis arrival here:
@LUFC do the club realise that fans are crying out for some decent 1st team signings – are they trying to wind us up? I don’t see other clubs announcing non first team signings in this way on their main account.

Interesting one with Denton and Pearce still on the books. Does it look like Denton May be moved on? #LUFC

As you can see, the Leeds fans in the Tavern aren’t thrilled with the signing of Davis and will be more excited when the club brings in some new players for the senior squad.
