Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have read the news in the Daily Mail that Lukas Podolski is ‘not happy’ with the lack of opportunities he is getting at the club and could look to leave the Emirates Stadium in January.
The German forward has already warned the club this season that if his situation doesn’t improve, he would to be off in January and it seems as though the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan are lining up a bid for him.
The 29-year-old was set to leave in the summer but was forced to stay after Olivier Giroud suffered a long-term injury.
However, the Frenchman is ahead of schedule in his recovery meaning he could return on November 29th when the Gunners visit West Bromwich Albion.
This means that Podolski would no longer be needed as cover, thus receiving the all clear to leave the club in January.
“Of course I am not happy with my situation right now,” admitted the German.
“I can’t be satisfied with that. We’ll see what happens in January.
“It is hard when you can’t do what you love. I don’t know why that is, you’d have to ask my coach (Arsene Wenger) in England
“If you can’t play then you can’t say he’s not playing well or he has a crisis if you’re not given the chance.
“If you only come in for 8 or 10 minutes it is hard to get into the game.”
Arsenal fans. How would you rate Podolski’s Gunners career so far out of ten? Would the squad be weakened that much if he was allowed to leave? Let us know your thoughts below.
