Citizens fans at the bar were previously in a happy mood, as the secured a decent victory over Bournemouth to remain top of the Premier League, until one punter wandered across with his copy of today’s press.
The Daily Express states ‘unhappy’ Yaya Toure may be forced out of Manchester by the British press, as he believes he has been treated unfairly by the media. Quotes cited from L’Equipe credit the Ivorian as stating:
“They have always used their little ways to annoy me to distracted. I often feel that I’m unhappy. A lot. Here, things are never as they say should be. Shouldn’t we more interested in mentioning the positive rather than the negative, right?”
“These people are not very smart. I do not have the habit of making shock interviews, I only say what I think. I’ve suffered for years, and now I have decided to talk. I mean everything.”
Toure appears to have been keeping his views bottled up for a while but the final straw may well have been the coverage of his appearance in court, where he admitted to speeding.
The former Barcelona man would not be the first-man to suffer at the hands of the British tabloids, with Luis Suarez tormented by various sections of the media throughout his time in Liverpool.
City fans, does Yaya Toure have a point or should he just concentrate on his football? Let us know your views in the comments below!
