Manchester United are already preparing talks with Juventus over the possible transfer of Milos Krasic in January, according to talkSPORT. Since joining the Italian side in the summer of 2010, Krasic has established himself as one of the league’s top players and his impressive displays on the field have caught the attention of a number of top European sides, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Russian club Anzhi who have also recently signed the likes of Yuri Zhirkov and Samuel Eto’o.
Krasic made 41 appearances in all competitions for Juve last year, and bagged himself 9 goals in the process. The Serbian midfielder is known more for his ability to create chances and take on defenders, though his goal scoring record is amicable for a winger in his first season in Italian football. Krasic made a name for himself in a 7-year spell at CSKA Moscow before signing for Juventus last year for around €15m. Juventus are likely to want more than this for their play-maker, though an official fee is yet to be reported by either club.
United already boast the likes of Nani, Valencia, and new signing Ashley Young, all of whom can play out wide or in an attacking role similar to that taken up by Krasic at Juventus. However, with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea often willing to splash the cash when it comes to top-players, Sir Alex and the United board will be keen to complete a deal before another club is able to get their foot in the door. Chelsea are reported to be willing to offer Alex in part of an exchange deal for Krasic, with the Brazilian defender desperate to complete a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea brought in both Juan Mata and Raul Meireles over the summer, though the side are still lacking any real width with the likes of Florent Malouda and Nicolas Anelka reaching the latter stages of their careers. Where Krasic ends up comes January remains to be seen, but Manchester United will be eager to wrap up any deal before the wealthy Chelsea or Anzhi can make an offer, and more importantly, before City can even think about joining the race.
