United fans on Twitter loved it as Mourinho give Pereira a start

If you don’t know by now, Manchester United blew a golden chance to top their Champions League group yesterday evening when they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Valencia. Jose Mourinho’s side would have usurped Juventus at the top of their group had they won and when the lineups were announced, the fans believed they could do it, especially with Andreas Pereira starting the game.

Jose Mourinho made a total of eight changes from the side he put out on the weekend against Fulham, and it seemed clear that he had one eye on their next game against Liverpool on Sunday when he opted to leave out the likes of David de Gea, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera. However, it was same old United as the travelling fans were treated to 90 minutes of boring football with no sense of creativity or urgency.

The main man that the fans were excited to see before the game kicked off was their Belgium-born Brazilian winger. Mourinho trusted 22-year-old Pereira with his 6th appearance of the season and the fans were delighted as he played out what was just his second 90 minutes of the season, with his first being on their opening day win over Leicester City. It’s no secret that changes are much needed at Old Trafford, and with the fans calling for a massive shakeup from top to bottom, it’s nice to see the supporters coming together to back Pereira.

A lot of United fans were delighted to see Pereira starting and will hope Mourinho can use him more often.
