Manchester United fans finally have a smile on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it has emerged from the Metro, that Toni Kroos has spoken to Louis van Gaal about a possible summer switch to Old Trafford.
Kroos, as one of our regulars points out, has been linked with a move to United all summer and now it seems as though the Bayern Munich playmaker could be set to pull on the famous red shirt next season.
Kroos is unsettled at the German champions and we understand that a move could well be on the cards – but United and new manager Louis van Gaal will certainly face a fight to land the star, with Real Madrid also monitoring the situation.
United are looking to bring in a host of new players after a disappointing 2013-14 campaign, and certainly have a fair wad of cash to spend.
Kroos has just one year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena, and Bayern may be forced to sell the player should the contract stand off continue, or indeed risk losing him on a free.
