Unwelcome transfer blow emerges for Tottenham after star’s comments

Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Tavern feel relaxed as the current campaign comes to a close, with a European spot firmly in their grasp after a successful season.

Mauricio Pochettino will be urging his players to give more next season after falling short in the Champions League, as they were knocked out by Italian giants Juventus in front of their home fans. Although, the summer transfer window will help Spurs improve massively, as a number of world-class additions could be making their way to North London. But, many of our local residents received some negative news in their pursuit of a long-term target, as according to an interview with beIN Sport (via RMC Sport), Malcom has claimed that a switch to Paris Saint-Germain is “the dream”.

Indeed, the Brazilian has been heavily linked with a big-money move to North London this summer, with bitter rivals Arsenal also keen on securing the services of the 21-year-old.

However, in an interview with Bein Sport, Malcom was asked about apparent contact between PSG and his current club Bordeaux in regards to a possible switch in the summer.

Malcom stated this:

“It’s the dream, they are big clubs, who will always play at the top level, play the Champions League, which will be champions in their league,

“I know there were conversations with PSG, PSG is a big club.”

So, with Paris Saint-Germain now possibly looking to step up their pursuit of the youngster after hearing of his interest, Tottenham may have their work cut out in trying to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Landlord’s Verdict:

This is bad news for Spurs as Malcom would more than likely opt for a move to Paris if an offer is put on the table, so perhaps they should turn their attention to a different attacking outlet in the summer transfer window. Although, there could still be a slight bit of hope as a move to the Premier League could be tempting, with Champions League football also on offer.
