Valencia expected to return for Javier Hernandez - Latest News

Looking at how West Ham United’s season has gone so far, it would be difficult to say that things have not been going in a positive fashion at the London Stadium. Manuel Pellegrini’s first season in charge of the Hammers was always going to be a transitional period, however, the club’s faithful will want to see the team push on and build on from it in the summer.

That will likely mean a number of changes in east London with a number of players expected to be offloaded with some new faces arriving, including one man that has become a key figure over the past couple of weeks.

What’s the News?

According to a report by Football.London, Javier Hernandez could still leave the club this summer, with Valencia expected to return for him.

The Spanish outfit are understood to have been keen on bringing the Mexico international to the Mestalla in January, however, West Ham were not keen to let him go but could be prepared to see him off in the summer.

The Verdict:

The situation surrounding Hernandez is a difficult one for West Ham as he has been rather brilliant in recent weeks, which have included his match-winning brace against Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

The Mexico international has made a real difference to the side when used as a substitute from the bench in games and has won the Hammers a number of points with his performances in the final stages of games.

However, it would appear clear that he is not a starting figure within Pellegrini’s main setup and is an expensive player to have on the books at the club, which could see the Irons look to offload him and save some cash.

Another concern would be that Hernandez is far too inconsistent for West Ham and a number of the 30-year-old’s displays have left plenty to desire at times, including the effort that he appears to show at times.

Offloading the former Manchester United striker could be considered a real risk and Pellegrini should not look to wave goodbye to him until the club have found a replacement and successfully brought them to the London Stadium.

West Ham fans, is it inevitable that Hernandez will be offloaded in the summer? What do you make of the Mexican? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
