The Chelsea supporters were hugely unimpressed by their side’s toothless performance in the Carabao Cup yesterday evening.
Antonio Conte welcomed Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side to Stamford Bridge last night for the first leg of their Carabao cup semi-final. The sides clashed at the beginning of the month in a thrilling encounter which finished 2-2 following late drama at The Emirates Stadium, but the level of entertainment from that game was certainly not replicated last night.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea were lacklustre throughout and struggled to create any meaningful opportunities during a surprisingly cagey affair.
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has been heavily criticised in recent weeks for his dip in goal-scoring form of late.
Although Morata certainly did not shy away from the action last night, his confidence is clearly in tatters, and the supporters are beginning to voice their concern in relation to his substandard performances.
And plenty of the Blues faithful have even began to suggest potential replacements for the Spanish striker on Twitter.
Perhaps to the surprise of some, Chelsea supporters have gathered in numbers in recent days and called for the club to sign Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
Despite some concerns regarding his age, calls for his signature seem to be increasing with every passing match in which Morata fails to perform.
Here’s what the fans had to say about the potential signing of Jamie Vardy…
I'd sign Vardy tomorrow if we could though as he's a snide!!

If we want to sign a striker from the premier league for short term.. we should be going for Jamie Vardy.

If Chelsea wants to sign an English striker. Sign Jamie Vardy not Andy Carroll. Vardy actually can run

Chelsea should sign Vardy, not cup tied, excellent as a back-up striker

Sign Vardy before pool sign mahrez. That'll effectively rule out pools move and more importantly we have an alternative to Morata, God knows we need a clinical forward like vardy @ChelseaFC

If Chelsea really want to buy a Striker who runs in behind perfectly and actually buries the chances, then sign Jamie Vardy @ChelseaFc
