There’s a particularly heated discussion going on between Everton, Sunderland, Stoke and West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern, with all laying claim to Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida.
The 42-cap Croatian international has made over 100 appearances for the Ukrainian outfit, following spells at Bayer Leverkusen and Dinamo Zagreb, but could end up leaving this summer when his contract will enter it’s final year.
And according to Mirror Football, Everton, Stoke, Sunderland and West Ham are all in the hunt to sign the 27-year-old, although – much like their current standing in the Premier League – the Black Cats are reportedly at the bottom of the pile.
All four club are keen to strengthen their defensive options this summer and signing Vida would go a long way to achieving that goal. He’s mainly operated at centre-back this season but can play both full-back positions as well, offering potential suitors copious depth in defence.
He was a key part of Kiev’s Champions League bid this season and although they failed to escape the Group Stages, Vida helped them to clean sheets over Besiktas and away at Napoli – showing his potential to play at Premier League level.
Punters in the Tavern just can’t get enough of the 6 foot defender, with all seemingly ready to welcome him to their respective clubs.
