Video: Former chairman makes bold claim regarding Wilshere’s move to Bournemouth

We’re not even sure the Arsenal faithful here in the Football Transfer Tavern would have come out with this.

Jack Wilshere completed a year-long loan move to Bournemouth last night, and the majority of the punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern were pleased with the deal.

Many felt that it could allow Wilshere to finally get some game time, whilst some of the more critical fans felt that the move was merely an effort to put the young English midfielder in the shop window, ahead of a potential sale next season.

Whilst fans couldn’t agree on the motives for the deal, one thing that is unanimously felt throughout the Tavern is that this loan will only serve to better Jack Wilshere as a player.

However, whilst an improvement is expected; we aren’t sure Niall Quinn is on the money with his latest comment on the deal…

Niall Quinn somehow got another gig with Sky Sports covering the Transfer Deadline Day stories, and he had his say on the Jack Wilshere loan.

He agreed with those in the Tavern, suggesting that the deal will be hugely beneficial to Wilshere – but then he proceeded to ruin all of his credibility by describing how it could actually help the young Englishman.

Pulling a figure out of nowhere, Quinn has outrageously claimed that the deal could increase Jack Wilshere’s market value to a huge £30-40 million!

That is the same Jack Wilshere that has hardly played in the last few years…

Check out the full video below, fast forward to the end if you want to hear Quinn have his say…

There’s no denying that Jack Wilshere is a good player – but £40 million? Surely he can’t be serious?

Niall needs to have a day off..

Absolutely mind-blowing…

Arsenal fans – Are we wrong here?! Is Wilshere ever going to be worth £40 million?
