As the biggest broadcast company in the country, the BBC must ensure it’s employees remain professional at all times, especially the newsreaders.
A straight face and remaining impartial are probably the two most important factors in a BBC newsreaders job – two qualities that were both absent from Clive Myries following day report on Manchester United’s Champions League exit to Real Madrid.
When handing over to his colleague for a match report Myrie – a Manchester City fan – simply could not hide his joy at Tuesday’s result.
Breaking into a wide smile, and unable to contain his laughter, Myrie sent out his thoughts to ‘all the upset people in Manchester’ before turning his attention to ‘others who were quite happy’ about United’s Champions league exit.
I wonder which category he falls into?
Needless to say, Myrie hasn’t been seen or heard from since the incident. It is the BBC we are talking about after all.
