Aston Villa could be lining up a shock move for out of favour Spurs striker Robbie Keane if Norwegian John Carew completes his transfer to Fenerbahce according to The Daily Mail. Carew has been linked with a move to the Turkish giants in the New Year and consequently Villa will be looking for a replacement, with the out of form Keane being highlighted.
Despite scoring 4 goals in one game this year, Keane has bagged just 2 in a further 11 appearances and has fallen out of favour with both Harry Redknapp and the White Hart Lane faithful, with the manager preferring Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch. Keane may well fell that his time in North London has come to an end and a possible move to Villa Park may seem appealing to the Irishman who will be out to prove that he has not lost any of his ability.
Keane could be available at a cut price fee because of his current situation at Spurs and if the transfer was to take place, Villa could use some of the money they coup for Carew to fund the move. Keane could well be the ideal purchase for the Midlands club who will be looking for a natural finisher to join Gabriel Agbonlahor and Emile Heskey in the front line at Villa Park.
