Liverpool continued their perfect start to proceedings as they got the better of Southampton at Anfield earlier on today.
The Reds have been completely dominant so far this season and they don’t look like slowing down anytime soon, with Jurgen Klopp working wonders. And, it appears as if Liverpool received good news on the injury front, as according to Liverpool’s official website, Virgil Van Dijk’s injury should not be too serious.
Virgil Van Dijk raised concerns when he was forced off with an injury against Southampton.
The Dutchman was replaced by Joe Gomez in the second half after he signalled to the bench that he could continue.
Indeed, the 27-year-old appeared to suffer with a rib injury, and it has now been revealed that it should not be too serious.
“It’s not cool but should not be too serious.
“It should be absolutely OK, hopefully. I didn’t hear anything different.”
Virgil Van Dijk has been one of the standout performers for Liverpool this season and will no doubt have a huge say on whether the Reds secure any silverware in the current campaign.
Liverpool will be pleased that the Dutchman’s injury shouldn’t be too serious, but they’ll be hoping that he doesn’t miss much game time with a busy schedule.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
