The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Antonio Conte will stay at Chelsea for the foreseeable future…
However, the Italian has given a less than convincing response when questioned on the matter. As per Squawka News on Twitter, when asked about his contract situation, Conte said: “I still have two years. It is more important to focus on our targets than a single person”.

Whilst Conte is being factual, in that he still has several years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, this statement has certainly worried the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern.
Of course, if Conte was happy at the club, it would make sense for him to extend his deal for as long as possible, offering him financial security whilst also securing his long-term future at the club. The fact that he is being slightly coy over the matter seems to suggest that all is not as it seems, particularly given the fact that Chelsea have very little to fight for at present. That being said, with the FA Cup final on the horizon, perhaps the Italian just wants to get that out the way first.
Having just led Chelsea back to the pinnacle of the Premier League, the Chelsea fans are desperate for him to stay.
