For me it’s a five way tie for goal of the (mid) week. We have seen some tidy finishes, some thumping bullets and a few very special goals. Here are the best.
Jermaine Beckford’s first goal for Everton was immense. A last gasp equaliser to salvage a point for 10-men against in form Bolton. The beautiful curled effort from the edge of the box was stunning.
Despite eventually becoming victim to one of the better football punches in the last few years, Pedersen actually had a decent game last night. Following a great delivery on his free kick, after some sloppy Newcastle defending, the winger managed to slot in a tidy finish from a very difficult angle.
Ricardo Fuller’s goal against the Blues was sublime. After skilfully dancing past two players he then released a beautiful curled shot that would have beaten any goalkeeper in the league. Magnificent.
What a reply to a stunning goal. Following Fuller’s class effort up steps Fahey. A tremendous chest to volley effort from the edge of the box to nestle in the left hand corner out of the keepers reach. Another unstoppable goal.
West Ham’s talisman Scott Parker once again won the fans hearts equalising with a phenomenal effort against the baggies. The ball just sat up nicely for him as he ran towards goals before he unleashed a ferocious shot into the top right hand corner. It was a truly outstanding effort.
The Arsenal striker is determined to retain his place.
Written off, the boy does it again.
Dreadful game. Fantastic finish.
