There are probably a lot of Crystal Palace fans right now who are feeling extremely anxious and cannot wait for the transfer window to close.

As well as Wilfried Zaha, who told the Selhurst Park hierarchy that he wants to leave the club last month (Sky Sports), Aaron Wan-Bissaka also continues to be linked with a move elsewhere.

Manchester United were said to be in hot pursuit but, according to the Daily Mail, the Premier League giants have since turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain's £22m Thomas Meunier.

With a long way to go before the transfer window slams shut, anything is still possible, especially when it comes to a player of Wan-Bissaka's ability.

But with Manchester United having seemingly switched their focus, there is reason for Roy Hodgson and Crystal Palace supporters to be optimistic about the future of their right-back.

The Red Devils are probably the only outfit in the Premier League you could really see splashing out on a 21-year-old defender given their desperation right now and recent history of overspending.

With them out of the picture, who else is really going to pay the sort of money the Eagles are likely to demand for Wan-Bissaka?

Even Manchester United's rivals Manchester City, who are also said to be interested in the England U21 international (also per Daily Mail), have shown in the last couple of transfer windows that they are currently unwilling to pay over the odds after losing out on both Alexis Sanchez and Jorginho.

Sign Meunier now, and Manchester United's pursuit of Wan-Bissaka will undoubtedly come to an end.
