Manchester United lead the chase for the highly rated youngster Tom Ince, son of club legend Paul. It is believed Ince Sr. has held talks with Alex Ferguson over a possible transfer to United, in which he believes it would be best for the 20 year olds development. So Ferguson has promised his scouts will keep a close eye on the u21 International and track his progress with Blackpool, with the option of a January transfer.
Since Ince was released by Liverpool and joined the Tangerines last year, he has gone from strength to strength at both club and international level. He rejected the chance to join Michael Laudrup’s Swansea in the summer in favour of a larger move further down his career. Both Newcastle and Tottenham are known to be very keen on a swift transfer with respect to the competition and his current contract situation, which is due to expire next Summer.
Following his disappointing spell at Liverpool, Ince is keen to re-establish himself in the premier league and eyes a quick return. He has been priced at a mere £8million, which combined with his age and potential, could be seen as investment for a future sale. At this point in his career, Ince would be better of at a developing club like Newcastle or Spurs, where he would get regular football and an opportunity to improve from world class players. Then later on down the line he could opt to follow in his fathers footsteps and move to Manchester United.
All is set for a January transfer scrap between some of the Premier Leagues biggest names. He certainly has the potential to become a future England international, with thoroughbred genetics and a professional attitude. I just hope he decides for what is best for his career in the long-run, rather than snatching at his dream and waste away on the subs bench.
