Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking slightly peeved as they are shown a Vine of their on loan striking flop Iago Aspas.
The Spaniard who made a mockery of the Reds’ number 9 shirt last term has remarkably destroyed Reds legend Robbie Fowler’s hat-trick record in just four minutes in a Copa del Rey fixture against Sabadell last night.
The Spaniard may have been a total failure at Liverpool but it seems that after temporarily relocating back to La Liga, he has found his shooting boots once again with his triplet of strikes registered in the 59th, 60th and 63rd minutes last night.
Fowler’s famous Premier League hat-trick – registered as the fastest ever in England – against Arsenal in 1994 took the Reds legend just four minutes and 33 seconds to register with Aspas now having gone one better than the Kop icon.
Aspas has of course only managed one goal in a Liverpool shirt and we think that whilst Brendan Rodgers could have utilised him slightly better, Aspas only displayed his petulant side and could have tried a little bit harder.
How the Reds could do with a regular goal haul from one of their misfiring strikers at the moment!
