Watch: Long term Man Utd target shows just why Guardiola is set to swoop

Manchester City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are beginning to taunt their inter-city rivals after a rumoured target bagged a fantastic goal on international duty.

According to recent reports from Goal, Mexico and Pachuca star Hirving Lozano is close to completing a move to join Pep Guardiola at The Etihad this summer.

The up and coming 21-year-old, who featured at last summer’s Rio Olympics, was heavily linked with a move to rivals Manchester United almost a year ago, with reports continuing into recent weeks.

However, with it looking as if Guardiola will win this one over long-time adversary Jose Mourinho, the City fans here in the Tavern are getting very excited after seeing the youngster score a well-worked goal against Honduras on Friday.

The Sky Blues have made a point of turning to youth and plotting for the long term since bringing in Guardiola last summer and our landlord thinks it’s about time.

It does seem, however, that the deal for Lozano is one for the very long-term with reports claiming that the winger is set to be loaned out to Dutch side PSV on a two-year-deal, much as was the case with attacking midfielder Patrick Roberts at Celtic.
