The Watford fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing comments made by their manager with regards to his future.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Quique Sanches Flores feels his job is safe due to the good relationship he has with the club’s owners.
Speculation has been rife about his future due to a dip in the club’s league form since the turn of the year, and that speculation intensified more following yesterday’s FA Cup Semi Final defeat to Crystal Palace.
“I know what is being said about the people working with me in this club. But in the week I was a little bit sad that people decided to talk about me. When people should be completely happy, I don’t understand why people are talking in this way. I don’t understand this kind of thing.”
“I don’t feel undervalued, I’ve not suffered because of that. I’m sad that if someone needs reasons to be happy and they’re not happy, then I’m disappointed, but I have to accept it. We are happy, the squad and me, we’re happy. Watford are safe. That’s very important for us this year.”
‘We don’t have reasons to talk about me. At the end of the season, in May, if people want to talk to me, that’s fine.’
The Watford fans in The Tavern are concerned by the lack of form but feel that sacking Flores would be jumping the gun as the most important thing they need is stability.
