The Watford fans who are competing in a darts tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking them with a move for a new striker.
According to reports in The Telegraph the Hornets have emerged as shock contenders to land West Bromwich Albion striker, Saido Berahino this summer.
The want-away forward is a top transfer target this summer for new Watford manager Walter Mazzarri and he is ready to rival Stoke City in the race to sign the talented Englishman.
With West Brom looking for at least £20m for the controversial striker and Stoke City refusing to move on their initial £15m offer for the striker, it looks certain that Watford are ready to pounce and take the striker from under the nose of their Premier League rivals.
The striker has never recovered the form he showed from the season before last, after West Brom decided to reject four bids from Totthenham Hotspur last summer. And in the wake of failed moves to Stoke and Newcastle in January it now appears that the club are fed up of the 22-year-old and are keen to let him move on this summer.
Watford fans, what are you thinking? Is Berahino worth taking a risk on? Let us know in the comments below…
