Watford fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted to hear that the club are set to bolster their midfield with the addition of an experienced international, who has experience of working under their manager.
The 28-year old worked under Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores at Atletico Madrid and, when asked about the defensive midfielder, the Watford manager didn’t rule out a reunion with his former midfielder.
“I don’t want to talk about names. The club is working and if you speak about a player the negotiations can be destroyed. I’ve said before that players who come to Watford have the right characteristics.”
Despite his attempts to calm the media’s questions, Flores was full of praise for Suarez, who has been capped by the Spanish national side. The Hornets boss added:
“The player you’ve mentioned – not me, you – is the kind of player we need. We need a centre-midfielder with quality and who is technically and tactically good. We need players who are at a high level.”
Our landlord believes that Mario Suarez would be a sensational addition for the highly-flying Hornets and would go a long way to ensuring them of Premier League football again next term.
