Many Watford fans were happy to see club legend Troy Deeney turn up to watch the U23s play a game this afternoon.
Watford U23s managed to beat Colchester United U23s 3-1 after falling behind to the visitors.
With the scores levelled at 1-1, a certain Troy Deeney showed up in the stands at Clarence Park, and it seemed to perk up the team as they managed to bag twice more before the full-time whistle.
Deeney has been out pretty much all season after having to undergo knee surgery and has therefore been unable to impact Watford’s poor form on the pitch. The Hornets are bottom of the league with four points from nine games and still yet to register a Premier League win.
According to the Daily Mail, his return from injury is edging ever closer, with reports suggesting that he could even be fit by the end of the month.
Either way, fans loved to see such commitment from the club captain. Here are some of the replies to the tweet:

Fair play you know. He gets a bit of stick, even from me in the past but even when injured, he’s at the games. Going to this game really will mean everything to the team. @T_Deeney real decent & shows the love of the game
