Big things in line for Watford fans if they can keep prolific pair firing

There is a real buzz about Watford fans here in The Transfer Tavern, with the Hornets faithful delighted with the start their side have made under new boss Marco Silva this season.

An impressive 2-1 win at Swansea City at the weekend fired the Hertfordshire outfit to sixth in the table, level on points with both Liverpool and Tottenham.

In a chat with our landlord, it became clear that the two names on the tongues of all Watford fans are Andre Gray and Richarlison, with the pair of summer signings both on the scoresheet at the Liberty Stadium.

Brazilian Richarlison joined from Fluminense and is already adapting nicely to the English game, whereas Silva broke the club’s transfer record to bring Gray in from Premier League rivals Burnley.

20-year-old Richarlison already has two goals to his name after just six top-flight appearances, and his pace and direct running caused the Swansea back-line no end of trouble on Saturday afternoon.

Combine that with Gray’s ability to turn nothing chances into goals, and the Hornets could be witnessing the birth of one of the deadliest partnerships in the Premier League.

Pace, power and technique can be found in abundance within this pair, and excited fans told our landlord that a top ten finish is not out of the question with the duo in form, and Silva at the helm.

There is a long way to go before we are given a true understanding of where this season is heading, but based on current form, Watford look to be a dangerous outfit.

What do you think, Watford fans? If a top ten finish a realistic target? Have your say below…
