Many Watford fans have weighed in on Twitter to give their Man of the Match opinion and there was an overwhelming champion.
The Hornets came back from 2-0 down to salvage a point with Arsenal and finished the game regretting they couldn’t get all three points.
It was a fantastic return for Quique Sanchez Flores, whose side managed to dominate large portions of the game, with Watford having 30 shots to Arsenal’s seven, while also managing to have 53 per cent possession of the match (stats per the Guardian).
When Watford’s Twitter account asked fans who their player of the match was, Tom Cleverley was the name on everybody’s lips.
The centre midfielder played a huge part in Watford getting back in the game, scoring the first goal in the comeback after Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ error from the goal kick led to Cleverley shooting past Leno in the 53rd minute.
As obvious from the responses below, Watford fans were delighted with the performance from the 30-year-old…
Hard one, so many played really well. ok, only allowed one so I'm choosing……………… Clevs , terrific today.
